Estonia PM calls on review of iGaming tax reduction

Estonia is reopening the phased cut that would take its online gambling tax down 0.5% a year to 4% by 2028: not a single new operator has entered since the policy passed, and the 2027 budget no longer balances. The PM set the condition plainly — if receipts do not grow, further cuts stop, a reminder that the break was priced on promised licence inflow rather than on the rate itself.

Culpability of Las Vegas Sands in spotlight as Nevada regulators approve $7.2 million Venetian AML fine

The Venetian will pay $7.2m over anti-money-laundering failures that regulators traced mostly to 2019-2021, when Las Vegas Sands still owned the property: of the $3.6m an illegal bookmaker lost there, under $100,000 came during Apollo's ownership. The current owner accepted the penalty anyway — a case worth remembering in any M&A process, because compliance liabilities transfer with the asset.

Ukraine to roll out gambling ban automation for military personnel

Regulator PlayCity has tendered for a module linking the register of people restricted from gambling to the Ministry of Defence's military personnel register via the Trembita exchange, replacing manual lists with an automated check. Joint testing runs to 24 December; the driver is not only welfare — officials cite fears that gambling debts leave serving personnel open to blackmail.
